This thread will document my quest for a handicap of 7 or below in 2011. I started this season with an 8.5 hdcp index. I always begin my practice sessions with my 60 degree wedge, Cleveland 588 Tour Action, with the short pitches from 25 to 45 yards.

Hit 100 or so balls today at 45 yds with LW 60. I think I have finally discovered something that will bring consistency back to my swing. If I can have a good session tomorrow when I begin practicing my W, 7 and Driver I will be super excited for I have struggled with my clubface control for many years. Will post my results here with video.

Yikes... 25 to 30 mph winds directly into my face at the driving range today. Not a day for practicing on my discovery. I did hit some shots that I have NEVER seen before. I also hit some PURE shanks! ... now I'm getting somewhere for sure. In the 70's when I played my best I could always tell when I was swinging better if I hit a shank. The sweetspot back then was closer to the hosel then. Ah those were the days... will try again tomorrow if the weather permits. The high winds and warm temps from here is responsible for the terrible weather north of here.
