Here is 3jack's explanation of the flying wedges.
I think that the description of the left arm flying wedge is totally deficient. 3jack is focusing his attention (when discussing the LAFW) on the release of PA#2, which occurs within the plane of an intact LAFW. However, he doesn't explain (what I believe) is the most important feature of the LAFW concept - which is how the intact LAFW moves in space during the release of PA#3, where it occurs in such a manner that the LAFW remains intact, and doesn't become disrupted.

I agree with your thoughts. I just posted this video to explain the basics of the flying wedges and where the term came from. Believe me, most people think flying wedges means that your pitching wedge goes flying in the air 3JACK
