I previously commented on JMcL's poor explanation of ball flight laws and I felt that he still didn't understand the new ball flight laws - even though he claims that he knew them 20 years ago. Here is a more recent example of him discussing a ball flight dilemma. www.youtube.com/user/JimMcLeanUniversity#p/a/u/2/HiganG4EYBkIf the embedded link doesn't open U-tube in this post, here is the link. www.youtube.com/user/JimMcLeanUniversity#p/a/u/2/HiganG4EYBkHe starts off by stating the clubface must not be too open, and that it will result in the ball hitting the trees. However, that is not the correct way to explain this ball flight dilemma. The amount that the clubface must be open is relative to the clubhead path and it is the amount that must produce the requisite amount of slice spin. Secondly, if the ball starts ~80% in the direction of the clubface, then the clubface must be oriented sufficiently far enough to the left of the tree so that the starting path definitely bypasses to the left of the tree. He also claims that the clubface hits the inside quadrant of the ball. Surely that is wrong! The clubface's sweetspot must surely hit the back of the ball (with the term "back" being defined as being square to the clubhead path). Because the clubface is open to the path, then the ball will be hit fractionally inside the center-of-the-back of the ball (~ 1 dimple inside), but that is not the same thing as hitting the inside quadrant. Jeff.

Painful to watch ... unprepared and confused it seems. Ball flight laws are butchered. 1 out of 5 rating. Not recommended for any golfer. 1 instead of 0 is only for those who may want the best example for how NOT to give a video golf instruction lesson. Rand

Yea they gotta start relating this stuff to the path, he does mention that its more face and going to start between the path and face but he never says what direction his path is in. Almost dumbing it down without using some real life numbers is making it more difficult to understand.
