CG, What do you mean by a hands and arms release? Jeff. You're kidding, right?

I am not kidding!
Some golfers have different opinions on what represents an "arm/hand release" eg. Bonar's hand crossover release, Laird's slap hinge push release, Nick Bradleys' puck release.
I personally believe that a golfer should never use an active arm/hand release action through impact, and the left arm cannot be an impediment when one releases an intact LAFW through impact.

Was the "left arm decel" thing ever resolved?
I remember guys saying that the pingman machine has to decel the arm, in varying amounts for various clubs, to release the club correctly. The pingman also doesnt have a torque generator at the wrist.
Then I also remember Nesbit's paper where he measured no deceleration of the hands at all in a golfer he measured, in fact I think it may have been even a constant acceleration of the hands into impact.

Natep, It is not only Nesbit who claimed that hand speed reaches its maximum at impact, and that there is no decel pre-impact. Rob Neal found the same fact in his research experiment. Jeff.

Yes, but the arm is decelerating. How are they measuring the hands speed vs. the arm speed? Seems to me that the hands, being connected to the arms, would be moving at the same speed as the arms.
