Dr Mann On Golfwrx , there always seems to be golfers posting videos of their swings and asking for opinions. The plethora of replies that I see can be incredibly diverse with no detailed logical explanation for 'cause and effect'. Here is an example of you-tube videos that were posted by one golfer and just wondering how you would start analysing his swing mechanics? www.golfwrx.com/forums/topic/1670360-jump-stall/Iron DTL: youtu.be/c_ImhUC6OGIIron Face On: youtu.be/HhaZI93yOPcDriver Face On: youtu.be/x0AbwbwEdFwDriver DTL: youtu.be/mZYGC3f7Ie4Imho, his takeaway shows the clubface almost square to the clubhead path by P2 (LFFW not 'On Plane'), the 2 ends of the club are not tracing the SPL and the backswing is very steep (although he tries to re-route it back on plane during transition). But he seems to have also done the 'Sam Snead Squat' and hip-squaring phase too early before he has reached P5. He also seems to have pushed off his right leg towards the target line causing early extension and right hip spin-out blocking his right arm. Is my summary above correct or wrong?

But he seems to have also done the 'Sam Snead Squat' and hip-squaring phase too early before he has reached P5. He also seems to have pushed off his right leg towards the target line causing early extension and right hip spin-out blocking his right arm. Is my summary above correct or wrong? He uses the A swing type of takeaway and an imaginary line drawn from out the butt end of his club points at his toes between P2.5 and P3 instead of pointing at the ball-target line. That causes his clubshaft to cross-the-line with his iron swing, but he does succeed in "laying-off" the club in his driver swing between P3 and P4 so that he is in a very good P4 position (and not too "laid-off"). He has a good clubshaft-shallowing action between P4 => P5.5, but he he uses a right hip spinning type of pelvic motion in his early-mid downswing that blocks his right elbow path and he therefore releases PA#2 early because he cannot easily get his right elbow in front of his right hip area (like Dustin Johnson). The active right hip spinning type of pelvic action (due to activation of his right-sided gluteus maximus muscle) also causes him to "stand-up" a lot at impact. He uses a flip-rolling type of non-DH hand release action (which is timing-dependent) and that may explain his complaint of sometimes hitting pull-draws. His complaint of wipe-cuts (push fades) could be due to difficulty in getting his right elbow passed his right hip area when he gets intermittently "blocked" . Jeff.
