Dr Mann
What is your opinion regarding the PGA Pro knee movements in AMG's video below (see 10:51 -16:48)? Isn't the video suggesting that there is no increase in external rotation of right femur by P5 (the hip squaring phase), that the knees have actually moved slightly closer together and continue to do so by P7?

The right hip joint is in internal rotation at P4 and in external rotation at P5 (end of the hip squaring phase), but that does not mean that the knees have to be further apart at P5. George Gankas promotes that knee separation move (where the bucket held between the knees falls), but I have never endorsed his golf instructional opinion. Here is Rory McIlroy's swing. Image 1 is at P4 and image 3 is near P5 (end of the hip squaring phase). His right hip joint is internally rotated at P4 and it is externally rotated at P5 - not due to movement of the right femur, but due to counterclockwise rotation of the pelvis away from the right femur. However, his right knee is moving slightly targetwards between P4 => P5 (while he squats) and he is not artificially/deliberately spreading his knees wider apart in a way that George Gankas teaches. Jeff.
