Watch this video showing a golfer teaching Eric Cogorno the "square to square" swing method.
It is physically very difficult to perform the "square to square" swing technique, where you keep the clubface square to the clubhead arc throughout the swing action, unless you use a very strong left hand grip and use a significantly shortened backswing action (to only ~P3 where the lead arm is parallel to the ground).
Eric, when trying to perform the "square to square" swing technique, uses a neutral left hand grip and he goes too far back beyond P3 in his backswing. Stop the video at the 16:56 minute time point and you will note that his watchface area of his lead lower forearm is facing the sky (due to lead forearm pronation) and his clubface is parallel to the watchface area of his lead lower forearm due to the fact that he has an intact LAFW/GFLW alignment.
Eric is definitely not performing the "square to square" swing method.
I know of no pro golfer who uses the "square to square" swing method, and the closest examples are golfers who use an ultra-strong lead hand grip and a shortened backswing length.
Jeff.
