I’ve watched a lot of current top level pro’s bow there lead wrist in the downswing. I’ve read post about this and Dr Mann explains how it really does not effect club face closure at impact once you release #2 accumulator fully. Could it be that majority of top pro’s are doing this to help them shallow the club in the early downswing? When I experiment with doing this it seams to help me close the club face relative to the path, which is often open slightly if I don’t do this. Thoughts on why that might happen?

When I experiment with doing this it seams to help me close the club face relative to the path, which is often open slightly if I don’t do this. Thoughts on why that might happen? When one bows the lead wrist between P4 => P6 it does angle the clubshaft slightly more downwards to a small degree that allows the club to approach impact between P6 => P7 from a slightly underplane angle. Bowing the lead wrist between P4 => P6 (when the lead wrist is radially deviated) does close the clubface relative to the clubhead path by ~20 - 25 degrees. I discussed all these issues in great detail in this review paper at perfectgolfswingreview.net/LeadWristBowing.html However, one should be able to square the clubface by impact even if uses a non-bowed lead wrist technique by using the appropriate amount of lead forearm supination during one's PA#3 release action. I read your paper on this. Only one question,is Kelly Oride really got her shoulders open at impact like it appears in the photos you use in showing a non bowed DH release? is that required? all the bowed wrist pro’s you show appear the have a square to the target shoulder line in their DH release’s but her’s appear very open.

It is optional how open the shoulders are going to be at impact in golfers who use a DH-hand release action - and many pro golfer-DHers have open shoulders even if they have a bowed lead wrist at impact.
