I was looking at GolfWRX.com's golf forum and noted this thread.
www.golfwrx.com/forums/topic/890054-cp-release/
The number of wrong-headed opinions expressed there is amazing. Some forum members believe that there is no such thing as a CP or CF release action.
Lefthook assumes that one doesn't have to know much about the biomechanics of the arm/hand release action when he states-: "If you want to do as little as possible with hands and arms, the best thing is to place the club across the chest during transition and simply whip it down plane. Dead arms, passive oily wrists and momentum will take car of the rest."
Atrayn states- : "I've jumped on the bandwagon of team, "I hate the use of the word release"
Do the forearms rotate CCW through impact? Yes
Do the wrists uncock? Yes
Does the left wrist bow or stay flat? Yes
All the above is my definition of release."
Dave stated-: "IMO forget about what kind of release u have and just try and work on basic motion like turning your shoulders at 90* to your spine and just let it happen.[/i"
Giken stated- "Ain't cp just more rotation, cf less rotation and more slide then throw out? I think it's as simple as that.
So cp got to release earlier, cf later bec more slide needs time.
Dana thinks that a CP-release action must be associated with an out-to-in clubhead path through the impact zone (baseline shift swing action). He wrote-: "Second the term CP is a term used by the MORAD camp defining a possible inline to leftward swing direction model swing. --- The CF model is once again a rightward shifted swing."
Phew!
Jeff.
