I originally wrote the following about Hogan's pre-impact swing action (from P5.5 to P7)- : "Hogan's clubface was only temporarily closed from about P5.5 to P6.5 due to left wrist palmar flexion and twistaway (what you call applying gamma torque), which was happening when his left wrist was radially deviated, but that closed clubface phenomenon disappeared by P6.5. From P6.5 to P7 he was releasing PA#3 without applying gamma torque in a twistaway manner.
Jeffy responded as follows-: ""What is this "twistaway" and "gamma torque" BS? The movement is called left forearm supination. Anyway, what you describe sounds a lot like early supination and PF followed by extension and pronation".
It is amazing to me that he doesn't understand the gamma torque phenomenon that is responsible for Hogan's clubface being closed relative to his clubhead arc between P5.5 and P6.2 (as seen in that animated gif that he repeatedly posts). However, what is particularly amazing to me is that he thinks that what I am describing involves "extension and pronation". Where is there any evidence that Hogan pronates his left forearm or extends his left wrist between P5.5 and P7?
Jeff.
