DG- I personally think that all your opinions regarding the relationship between shaft bend immediately post-impact and the presence/absence of a negative hand couple scenario make no sense to me. You wrote-: "With regards the hand torque post impact (images 2-6), I think its all reactive to the impact wave considering the below on Dave Tutelman's website. So the ball will also create a 1600 lb force on the clubhead which is very large. The impact wave is going to exert a shaft bend torque on the hands that may dominate anything the hands try to do."
I disagree with that bold-highlighted statement.
Here is Lexi Thompson's handle-dragging short iron shot. When I look at her hand motion through impact, she has far more forward shaft lean of her club handle in image 2 with an increased degree of trail wrist extension, which means that she is using a negative hand couple torque through impact - even though the shaft below the level of the club handle is bending backwards due to turf collision. Dr Mann Did you see my previous post where I said the following? "I could be mistaken, but I think that could mean negative hand torque while the shaft segments just beneath the hands were in momentary lagging bend (not forward bend)." DG

Dr Mann
Looking again at the images of Lexi, why not consider the clubhead collision with ball/turf to explain that momentary extra forward lean in image 2? Why would Lexi need to apply negative torque with the hands if the collision is already doing it for her? Do you think Lexi's wrists are passive approaching impact? If so, isn't the club collision rotating the trail wrist into more extension and the lead wrist into more flexion?
