Consider how these three pro golfers perform a body/arm release action between P5.5 and P7.5.
Ben Hogan
Ben Hogan
Image 1 is at P5.5, image 2 is at ~P6.5, image 3 is at impact and image 4 is at P7.5.
Note that BH's pelvis is slightly open at P5.5 while his shoulders are square. Note how his pelvis continues to rotate non-stop between P5.5 and P7.5 and that his degree of torso-pelvic separation remains unchanged so that his pelvis is still more open than his upper torso at P7.5.
Note how he has his right arm adducted to his right-side at P5.5 and that his right elbow is in a pitch location near his right hip joint. Note how his right upper arm never separates away (in an abductory manner) from the right side of his right mid-upper torso between P5.5 and P7.5. Note how he maintains an incompletely straightened right arm and bent right wrist all the way between P5.5 and P7.5, which is very conducive to an efficient execution of his CP-arm release action combined with a no-roll DH-hand release action.
Jon Rahm
Image 1 is at P5.5, image 2 is at ~P6.5, image 3 is at impact and image 4 is at P7.5.
Note that JR's pelvis is slightly open at P5.5 and his shoulders are minimally closed. Note that he only has a small degree of continued pelvic rotation between P5.5 and P7.5, while his shoulders rotate much more.
Note that his right upper arm abducts away from the right side of his right mid-upper torso between P5.5 and P7.5 as he performs a CF-arm release action. Note that he still has a bent right arm and bent right wrist at impact, but he "runs-out-of-right arm" in his early followthrough so that his right elbow and right wrist are fully straightened at P7.5.
Note that he is a DHer who keeps the clubface square to the clubhead arc during his early followthrough by avoiding any significant amount of left wrist supination and /or left wrist extension.
Rickie Fowler
Image 1 is at P5.5, image 2 is at ~P6.5, image 3 is at impact and image 4 is at P7.5.
Note that his pelvis is slightly open at P5.5, but his shoulders are still significantly closed. Note that his pelvis opens up very little between P5.5 and P7.5, and that his shoulders rotate much more.
Note that his right upper arm is adducted against the right side of his right mid-upper torso at P5.5 but it abducts away from his body as he moves into impact, after which he then performs a CF-arm release action.
Note that he is "running-out-of-right arm" by impact where he already has a straightened right arm and straightened right wrist. Note that his right forearm is higher (steeper) than his clubshaft at impact.
Note how his right forearm is over-pronating and causing his right palm to roll-over his supinating left hand at P7.5 as he performs a non-DH hand release action.
In terms of biomechanical control of the club's motion and clubface ROC through impact, I think that Ben Hogan's body/arm motion is best and Rickie Fowler's is the worst - even though they are all great ball-strikers by PGA tour standards.
