DG, You asked the following question-: " I hope you can see the images clearly but my question is why is Adam Scott's hands/grip moving down when there is a net 10N vertical force acting upwards? If there were a net 10N force acting upwards wouldn't both the hands/grip and COM be moving up (as per the isolating the 'Trail Hand' frames images I've attached below)?" I think that your question is irrational. The lead hand moves downwards because Adam Scott is starting his release of PA#4 that moves the lead arm downwards. The effect on the club handle is to move the club handle down the hand arc path. If there was no trail hand force available the clubhead would move downwards as well because of the MoF phenomenon that causes the club's COM to move in such a manner that it will line up with the pulling force. However, his clubhead moves upwards in those AS images because the trail hand is applying a hand couple force against the aft side of the club handle that is greater in magnitude than the MoF. Why should the fact that the trail hand is applying a hand couple torque (that influences the lag angle) affect the downward movement of the butt end of the club handle that is due to the lead hand moving down the hand arc path? Sasho's answer is bizarre!
I that DT's answer is nonsensical because the club does not rotate about its COM.
Jeff.

I've deleted the posts as I don't think it's worthwhile.
