I think that's the wrong way to think of the closure rate. I think that it should not include the downswing and I think that it should only include the the time period from P6.9 to P7.1/7.2 because that represents the immediate impact zone. The immediate impact zone is colored in yellow. Golfers who use a full roll hand release action will usually have a fast closure rate between P7.2 and P8, but that doesn't mean that they have a fast closure rate in the immediate impact zone (where it is critical to avoid that problem).
