I have being looking back at my collection of post-impact images, and I now realize that I have been careless in labelling golfers as being flip-rollers simply because their clubshaft is not in a straight-line relationship with their left forearm post-impact - even though they don't have any evidence of left wrist dorsiflexion. As I have discovered in this thread, the flipping of the clubshaft passed the left arm in the absence of evidence of left wrist dorsiflexion is likely due to rotation of the left forearm/FLW +/- camera shutter distortion causing "apparent" forward bending of the clubshaft. However, Jeffy hasn't learned that lesson - see this Jeffy forum thread at jeffygolf.com/showthread.php?761-Brittany-Lang-FlipperLifter asked if Brittany Lang is a flipper. Jeffy labels her a flipper (underflipper subtype) based on this post impact image. He has again not shown that she has definite evidence of left wrist dorsiflexion and he is again basing his label-of-being-a-flipper on those yellow lines. Here is a capture image from the video posted by Lifter. There is definitely no evidence of left wrist dorsiflexion, and the clubshaft being angled forward of the left arm could be due to left forearm/FLW rotation +/- camera shutter distortion. It is wrong-headed to label her a flipper with that FLW (even slightly bowed left wrist) appearance. Jeff.

I am not surprised that Jeffy is making the mistake of wrongly labeling a golfer as being a flip-roller when he notes that the clubshaft is ahead of the left forearm after impact - although the cause is simply due to a counterclockwise rolling of the left forearm/FLW through impact. KM makes the same mistake in his release articles. Consider two images from KM's release article - part 2 www.aroundhawaii.com/lifestyle/health_and_fitness/2013-05-whats-your-release-style-part-2.htmlIn that article, KM has two animated displays of i) an amateur golfer and ii) Stewart Cink who he labels as being flip-rollers. I cannot produce the animated display here, so I will present the images in sequence. Here is the amateur flip-roller. To correctly define a flip-roller, one must be able to demonstrate that the i) radial border of the left lower forearm is continuing to rotate counterclockwise through impact and ii) that the left wrist is becoming increasingly dorsiflexed (extended) through impact. Both those phenomenona are seen in the above image. However, KM also labels Stewart Cink as being a flip-roller, and he states-: " For some obscure reason Stewart Cink feels so comfortable in his skin that he’s traded in his old drive/hold release for a flip/roll." Here are the images of Stewart Cink. One can clearly see that the radial border of his left lower forearm is rotating counterclockwise in that sequence of images, but there is no evidence of increasing left wrist dorsiflexion. Therefore, one must rationally conclude that he is not a flip-roller and that the roll motion of his FLW through impact causes the clubshaft to not be in a straight line relationship with his left forearm in the post-impact image (image 4). It would be in a straight line relationship (a seen from a face-on viewing perspective) if the rate of roll was significantly less. Jeff.

Jeffy posted this comparative image of the golf student (Maddison) and KS in his Jeffy-forum thread. Jeffy then stated-: " Lucas' student Maddison went from a nasty, hip-stalling flip/roll to a full Div-1 scholarship. Guess who the "before" swing looks like???" That's a total misrepresentation of reality. Who does Jeffy think he is fooling? One can clearly see that Maddison is flipping ( increasingly bending her left wrist) during her pre-impact flipping motion. That left wrist flipping motion can be clearly seen in this video. However, Jeffy has never produced an image of KS flipping ( increasingly bending his left wrist) before impact, or through impact, or immediately post-impact (between P7 and P7.2). A clue to the misrepresentation in that comparative image is that KS's lower left forearm is much more rotated counterclockwise, which allows him to maintain a FLW between P7 and P7.4; while Maddison's left lower forearm is not rotating counterclockwise during her left wrist flipping (dorsiflexion) action. Jeff.
