See this Jeffy forum thread - jeffygolf.com/showthread.php?758-jeffygolf-EXCLUSIVE-300fps-video-of-Kevin-quot-Sasquatch-quot-Shields
Jeffy labels KS a flip-roller, and he states the following about his swing-: "No wonder he just kind of waves at it. Oh, the humanity!!!
This next Jeffy-comment is from a 3jack forum thread on KS's swing and Jeffy states-: "Good luck finding a flip/roll like this on the PGA tour. They don't make it to that level."
Those nonsensical comments merely reflects Jeffy's anti-KS bias and his usual lack of knowledge.
For example, Jeffy posted this comparative photo of Marc Leishman and KS - implying that KS is flipping through impact..
However, Jeffy is wrong (as per usual) - KS has a FLW and there is no flipping of the proximal clubshaft passed the FLW. It is only the peripheral/distal clubshaft that is bent forward, and that may be primarily due to camera shutter distortion.
Here are capture images from the same video.
Image 1 shows a FLW at impact, and image 2 shows a FLW soon after impact. The flipping of the clubhead merely reflects bending of the peripheral clubshaft.
Image 3 shows a FLW (and no flipping) from another KS-video.
Jeffy has provided no evidence that KS flip-rolls more than many PGA tour golfers who are noted to be flip-rollers eg. Louis Oosthuizen who won the British Open. There is nothing about KS's swing that prevents him from competing with PGA golfers - even though I don't like his roller release action and I prefer a delayed full-roll release for golfers who don't use a no-roll hand release action.
cwdlaw223 wrote in the same thread-: "You need more than one video camera to make a determination if someone is a truly flipper (as defined by lead wrist being in extension at impact)."
That's typical cwdlaw223 BS! I can readily assess whether this golfer is flipping (or not) using one Phantom camera.
Manually toggle the video between 0.34 and 0.36 seconds and you will clearly note that she doesn't flip through impact.
Here are capture images.
It is clear that she has an intact LAFW/FLW in image 1 (which is well beyond impact) and that she is not a flipper.
By the way, note that she has her right upper arm in internal rotation between P5.5 and P7 and that she doesn't flip, which belies Jeffy's wrongheaded statement that "Plenty of flippers on tour, they just don't also roll. It is caused by the right shoulder going into internal rotation earlier than those who don't flip, like Leishman". Right shoulder internal rotation doesn't cause a flip and it is due to either premature active straightening of the right elbow or right wrist +/- stalling of the forward momentum of the lead FLW through impact.
